MOVIES OF 2012-FEBRUARY 28th

Tonight I finally got around to watching The Help, I meant to watch it weeks ago before the oscars, but I never made time for it. It was incredible, really really brilliant! The acting was terrific and I'm not ashamed to admit I cried through quite a few bits!

MOVIES OF 2012-FEBRUARY 19th

Today I went to the cinema and saw We Need To Talk About Kevin, I had read the book, so I wanted to see the movie to see what they would do with it, I was happily surprised. I thought they did a very good job with it. It was creepy and fresh and the music fit perfectly the mood of the book, there were certain things they left out I felt they should have kept in, but well we can't have everything. The casting choices were also pretty spot on, expect for the father the other characters were cast almost exactly like I pictured them in the book.

The Fault in Our Stars

This is one of my favourite quote from John Green's new novel The Fault in Our Stars:

‎"There will come a time when all of use are dead, all of us. There will come a time when there are no human beings remaining to remember that anyone ever existed or that our species ever did anything. There will be no one left to remember Aristotle or Cleopatra, let alone you. Everything that we did and built and wrote and thought and discovered will be forgotten and all of this will have been for naught. Maybe that time is coming soon and maybe it is millions of years away, but even if we survive the collapse of our sun, we will not survive forever. There was time before organisms experienced consciousness, and there will be time after. And if the inevitability of human oblivion worries you, I encourage you to ignore it. God knows that's what everyone else does." -John Green, The fault In our Stars

MOVIES OF 2012-FEBRUARY 7th

Tonight I watched Like Crazy, I had heard about this movie a few months ago, and I actually thought it would be much sadder.. the acting was very good, but the ending left a little too much to the imagination for my liking, but still a very nice movie.

MOVIES OF 2012-FEBRUARY 5th

Today I went to the cinema with Diane and Mariana and we watched Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, which is based on the novel by Jonathan Safran Foer. It was beautiful, really beautiful and also very emotional! I wasn't expecting it to be so sad, the book is about an upsetting subject, but having it portrayed so well on screen was even harder. I also the thought the actor who played the main character did a very good job!

and tonight I also watched About a Boy, which is the film adaptation of the novel by Nick Hornby, I wasn't too keen on the casting choices at first, because I really didn't picture Nick looking like Hugh Grant.. but it turned out pretty good.

Saturday, February 4, 2012

Last night I watched Breaking Dawn pt 1, yes you read that right, breaking dawn.
I couldn't not watch it, I read all 4 books, so I had to see how the movie turned out.. it was.. what I expected I guess, actually it was a bit better than I expected (the music was good) and yes I did turn the volume down and look away during the giving birth scene, because.. eww.

MOVIES OF 2012-FEBRUARY 2nd

Tonight I watch Midnight in Paris, and it was absolutely glorious, such a beautiful film! and on top of it it was made even more great by the fact that I went to Paris two summers ago, so I recognized a lot of the locations in the film.
